    Let me get it off my chest. It's REE-TAR-DID (sorry for the PC amongst thee) that you have to install some stupid software for this thing as an intermediary to upload it to a computer and then have the computer upload to Youtube/Picasa/Flickr. That like defeats 30% of the purpose.

    ***EDIT*** apparently, they say it ain't true... so why listen to me anyway!?!?

    This is CLEARLY one of those technologies that will fade. It will become built in to everything once 3G cell signals are embedded into our DNA strands.

    But until that time, it does serve a market niche. A market niche of which I am a part.

    I think this thing should be way better than it is. It has so much potential. It's like Linux. It should be more like Mac. which just works. I mean, I love Linux, but not in SD cards...

  • Comment: To be honest, I was not able to test the Eye-Fi SDHC card yet on a camera. The reason for that is I was so excited to come across this product and I just bought it! I was just thinking of getting the card and use it on my Olympus! I have a Canon DSLR but it only has CF slot but I have a compact Olympus. But as soon as I opened the memory slot of Olympus, I was devastated.. It uses XD card!!!! It was so painful that I was so keen to get it but not able to test it!!

    In any case, the ease of setting up the Wi-Fi connectivity and simplicity of the management of the whole services through the web interface is awesome!!

    I'll find a way to test the card and write up another review on how it went well! :-)

  • Comment: I double checked the compatibility charts before buying. I triple checked again before submitting a ticket.

    The support team never responded so I emailed them back. They asked for logs. I emailed them logs and mentioned that I noticed that the logs were not reformatted with the rest of the card. They responded that the logs were not supposed to be wiped clean and closed the issue without ever addressing my problem. Now that it is too late to return the card I check the compatibility charts after the forums say that they've been updated, and low and behold, my camera is now marked as incompatible, without anyone ever telling me or offering a refund.

    Here is the letter I sent in after receiving the last (completely unhelpful) communication from tech support:

    "To whom this may concern,

    I am not angry at you, or any individual who has worked with me. I am upset at the entire process that I have been put through. I feel lied to and neglected, and would greatly appreciate if you could forward this email to the people who have the power to make changes in how your company is run.

    That doesn't solve the problem of why my Eye Fi card doesn't work. I checked and double checked the compatibility chart before purchasing my card, and triple checked before submitting this ticket, and the chart showed my camera saying that it should work. After having next to no communication from you guys, I looked at an updated chart saying that now says the camera is not compatible.

    I'm pretty furious at your company for not at least emailing me to say, thank you for finding this incompatibility for us, can we refund you for your card? But I've yet to receive anything from you without having to email over and over again asking for an answer.

    Even this last response was worthless. I am not submitting a tech support ticket looking to see why my log file isn't being wiped clean. YOU guys asked for the log file and I was unsure if I was doing everything properly. YOU guys discovered that my camera is incompatible, and I can only assume that I am the reason this discovery was made, yet I was not ONCE contacted saying, "I'm sorry, you won't be able to use your card" and now it is too late to return the card to the retailer.

    I work as a software engineer in an organization with thousands of technical people, and you can rest assured that if any of them mention interest in your product that I will be steering them away. If anyone mentions that they want the capabilities your product provides, I will be telling them about your company and the terrible support and experience I've had.

    $80 is no small pennies to be lied to over. Your company made a mistake and your company has made no effort to resolve my problems. There is a serious problem with how this entire situation has been handled, and I'm sure that I am not the only person who this has happened to. My guess is that every time an incompatibility was discovered a poor customer was treated the same way I have been over the past few MONTHS.

    Needless to say, I've had a terrible experience, and am now left with a $80 card that I can't use and a headache I can't get rid of.
